With a Little Help From My Friends… (That Means YOU!)

I’m not blogging tonight (this doesn’t count, swear!).  I know I promised a blog a day for Lent, but what’s happening is:  I’m coming home from work and rattling off something between dinner and bedtime.  Though it was an incredibly useful exercise in getting me back in the habit of writing, I’m starting to feel my posts are forced and insincere.  Certainly not what I know I can do given the time to concentrate, write and edit.  Some of my favorite blogs have happened on my days off— when I’m settled in front of my computer with a cup of coffee and something to complain about. (And we all know I always have something to complain about.)

What I’d rather do tonight is read

That’s where you come in.  I can sit here all night and find three out of 10 blogs I want to follow, or I can cheat and ask the people I’m already following to link me up to who they like to follow.

I know we’re supposed to do the follow thing on Fridays, but I’ve always been a late bloomer.

So tell me… Who are your favorites?

Aside from me, of course.  ;p

I've heard that the book 'The Gargoyle' by Andrew Davidson is a good read. Yours is the only blog I read, so I don't know about any other blogs...I do listen to many a podcast, the 'Stuff you should know' podcasts are great, as well as the 'National Gallery' podcasts, and the 'Grammar Girl''s podcast...dunno if that helps, I know it's not technically reading

I think I'm gonna check out Grammar Girl. I have yet to put itunes on this thing, though.

Perhaps I'll crack the binding on one of those four unopened magazines I've been avoiding.

Me, My Thoughts and I-love the frankness with which the author writes. One of my fave posts by her lately is I'm sick of That Girl- http://theplatinumyears.blogspot.com/2010/02/im-sick-of-that-girl.html

You might enjoy Pixieblog, though she is just starting out blogging: http://mypixieblog.com/

This Fish Needs a Bicycle is one that was recommended but I haven't gone back to read the archives, I just catch the current posts: http://thisfish.ivillage.com/love/

My galpals tex (http://journeytoblissville.com/) and GreenEyes (http://myvividgreeneyes.blogspot.com/)

Hell...read everything on my blogroll. LOL!

There are other ones I read about writing and dieting and such but those are the ones I find most entertaining.

Ah, I see how you found me now! I get it!

Okay, here's mine:

plotthickens.blogspot.com <--that's Vic, she's hilarious and a teacher and just so fun to read

monsterapathy.blogspot.com <--that's Kurt, he's really clever and irreverent

I got to a point where I felt the same way about my posts, just forced. I just do it now when it comes naturally, and I like it better this way.

Glad to know another blogger out there has a JOB - like me! Sometimes it's all I can do to work, date, exercise, clean, be a good pet mommy, tae care of family commitments... oh yeah...and then blog! :)

I'm laughing at the thought of an east coast girl living in Louisiana...have you lost your sanity yet? :)

Keep writing when you feel inspired...or have a chance...but let's face it...we can't be superwomen ALL the time. :)
